Our demo of Diana Moon Glampers is on AbsolutePunk.net’s summer compilation with a bunch of other great bands. Stream // Download.
A couple of interesting things have happened regarding the band in the last couple of days. I had basically dismissed our old record, The Joy, The Sorrow. Not because I think it’s bad, I’m just over it. I’m over the songs and the idea of that record. It was a thing that was relevant to us at the time and now it’s not.
However, I received this message from a soldier in afghanistan:
“saw you guys live once, and bought “the joy, the sorrow,” and i cant help but listen to it in its entirety at least once a week. rescued by a sinking ship has become my anthem being here in afghanistan. god bless, and look forward to the new record”
For those who don’t know, the lyrics for this are “Take me home. Take me somewhere Where I don’t have to be alone”
Not even a day later, someone told me that they were going to hurt themselves and then If I Were A Frog came on and it stopped them from doing it.
This humbled me in a great way. I feel like it speaks for itself. Why would I go on about it?
Here is a music video for our new song MONTHS off of our new record FOREVER that comes out the 8th of June.
This is not about pushing records or selling t-shirts or hoping we pack a room when we finally let this record leave our hands.
This is about giving people a place to be when they have no place. Giving people something to hold on to when they feel like they have nothing left. Every song on this record comes from a place where we had nothing to look towards, so we made something to look towards.
When you are broken, pick up your pieces. Never be ashamed of the terrible place you are in. If there is anything that we have in common, it is struggle. I don’t care if you have money and food and shelter or not - you are just as broken as we are.
So come be broken with us. We are not trying to save you, because we can’t.
What we can do is be lost with you.
So let’s go.
See you on the 8th.
Please click through to read Justin’s original post on this. In The Wake Of Giants have been the dearest people in the world to me since our first show together, and this is why.
So many awesome bands and people last night. Thanks to every body who came out early for our set and stayed for the entire show. All of the bands we’ve played with have music online for free stream/some download, so take advantage of that shit.
We’ll be writing heavily for the next couple months, but we’re still looking for local shows in June if anybody wants to get something together. Let us know and we’ll work something out!
